Q: What can I expect when I take a course from JADE Learning?
A: JADE Learning designs and delivers quality continuing education courses for nurses. Our courses are tailored to the needs and interests of nurses, and include a broad range of clinical topics relevant to RNs and NPs. Interactive exercises, case studies, animations, downloadable handouts, and audio components enhance your learning experience. Feedback is provided with all questions, to reinforce key concepts. Q: Are JADE Learning online courses just print articles that have been published on the Internet?
A: JADE Learning online courses take full advantage of available Internet technology. In addition to text- or audio-based content, each course makes use of varied learning tools and content resources, including a glossary of terms and a medication reference library. Content is viewed on slides, eliminating the need to scroll through page after page of text. Navigation buttons allow you to move easily within each course. Q: When can I take my courses?
A: JADE Learning, Inc. understands that nurses want flexible, convenient options when looking for continuing education courses. Our courses can be accessed at any time, from any computer with an Internet connection. You can log in and out of courses at any point, and when you log back in, you can return to the last slide viewed or start from the beginning. Q: Do I need special computer hardware or software to take JADE Learning courses?
A: Speakers are required to hear the audio portion of our Interactive Roundtable courses. Because JADE Learning is committed to providing accessible continuing education courses to nurses, we limit the use of special software needed to view courses. The following programs will enable you to take full advantage of our courses:
- Adobe® Reader ® (allows you to view and print .pdf documents) - download now
- Macromedia ® Flash ® (allows you to view animations) - download now
- Sun Microsystems ® Java (allows you to interact with course features) - download now
Many computers already have the software programs needed to view our enhanced course features. Not sure if your computer has these programs already loaded? You can check your browser by visiting our compatibility test page.
If you do not have these software programs installed, they are available free of charge from the manufacturer’s website. Installation is easy and step-by-step instructions for download are provided.

Q: Will you keep records of my courses?
A: In accordance with the regulations of the American Nurses Credentialing Center, JADE Learning will maintain confidential records of courses completed. These records can only be accessed by authorized personnel, and will not be shared with anyone other than the customer. JADE Learning will never sell your information to anyone. If you need a duplicate certificate to verify course completion, please contact our office.

Q: What forms of payment are accepted?
A: JADE Learning accepts VISA, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express credit and debit card payments, as well as checks. Electronic payments are made using a secure server.

Continuing education
Q: Is JADE Learning an accredited provider of nursing continuing education?
A: JADE Learning, Inc. is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. JADE Learning is an Approved Provider of continuing nursing education by the North Carolina Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. States that accept courses approved by the ANCC will accept courses approved by NCNA.

Q: How do I earn contact hours?
A: Participants are eligible for contact hour credit upon successful completion of JADE Learning courses. It is expected that participants complete all course materials, including interactive exercises, and adhere to the Code of Ethics for Nurses during all course activities.
To earn continuing education contact hour credit, participants must:
- Answer all continuing education questions.
- Achieve a passing score.
- Submit a completed course participant evaluation.
- Remit payment for the course.

Q: How long are courses available for continuing education credit?
A: JADE Learning courses are approved for a period of two years. An expiration date for each course will be identified on the course listings page. Once a course has expired, no contact hours will be awarded for that course.

Q: When do I receive my certificate of completion?
A: JADE Learning understands that your time is valuable. To make verification of contact hours and record-keeping easier, certificates of completion can be printed directly from your home computer. When you pay by debit or credit card, you can print your certificate immediately upon completion of the course. If you experience difficulty printing your certificate, please contact us for assistance.

Q: Does JADE Learning send the results of my courses to the Board of Nursing, or to certification bodies?
A: JADE Learning knows that record-keeping is an important part of nursing continuing education, and provides an opportunity to print a certificate of completion from your personal computer. JADE Learning does not send your results to any nursing board or certification organization, or any third party. If you need duplicate copies of your certificate of completion, please contact us.

Q: I can’t access an online course.
A: Please ensure you are registered with JADE Learning, and have entered the correct login and password in the login box to your left.

Q: I can access a course, but cannot view the course materials.
A: There are four primary culprits for this issue:
- Pop-up blocking software is enabled. Please refer to your software's manual for instructions on disabling it.
- A Java® plug-in may not be installed. download now.
- Macromedia Flash Player® is not installed. download now.
- You may be using a system other than Windows®; our courses are not designed for use on Macintosh computers.
- You may be attempting to view audio course via a very slow connection, such as dial-up. Please contact us for a free CD of the course.

Q: I am unable to view, print or download a handout or document.
A: Adobe Reader® is not installed, or the installed version is older than 5.0. download now.

Q: There is no sound in an audio course.
A: You may be attempting to view an audio course via a very slow connection, such as dial-up. Contact us for a free CD of the course. If you are certain this is not the case, please:
- Check that your speakers are turned on, and turned up loud enough for you to hear.
- Ensure Macromedia Flash Player® is installed. download now.

Q: How do I find my place within the course when I log back in?
A: Use the Table of Contents control to select a specific location within the course.

Q: My test responses weren’t saved when I logged out.
A: Cookies may not be enabled on your brower. For Internet Explorer:
- Choose the Tools menu from the top of your window.
- Click Internet Options. This will pop up a new window with a series of tabs at the top.
- Click the Privacy tab
- Adjust the slider to allow cookies

Q: The same course page keeps coming back up.
A: Your cache needs to be cleared. For Internet Explorer:
- Choose the Tools menu from the top of your window.
- Click Internet Options. This will pop up a new window with a series of tabs at the top.
- On the General Tap, click the Settings button
- Set the Check for newer version of stored pages: to "Every visit to the page"
- Click OK to return to the General tab
- Click the Delete Cookies button to delete cookies
- Click the Delete Files button to delete temporary internet files
- Click OK to close the Internet Options window

Q: What if I have technical trouble or questions?
A: JADE Learning knows how important customer support is when in an online environment. Customer support is available via email and phone, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 6:00 pm EST. When we are unable to answer the phone, callers may leave a voice mail, which will be returned by the next business day. In addition to customer support for registration, payment, and technical issues, JADE Learning offers specific course support: Course Coordinators are available by email for any questions concerning course content.
