Lisa Schulmeister is an oncology nursing consultant and adjunct Assistant Professor of Nursing at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. She conducts practice assessments, develops and presents educational programs, reviews medical malpractice cases, and is a healthcare consultant for an advertising agency.

Previously, Ms. Schulmeister worked in inpatient, outpatient, and home care settings, and has 27 years of medical-surgical and oncology nursing experience. From 1999 to 2003, she served as the editor of the Clinical Journal of Oncology Nursing. Her research and many of her publications have focused on medication errors and their prevention. In 2003, Ms. Schulmeister received the Oncology Nursing Society Excellence of Scholarship and Consistency of Contributions to the Oncology Nursing Literature Award.
