Dr. Cheek is the Abell-Hanger Professor of Gerontological Nursing at the Harris School of Nursing and School of Nurse Anesthesia at Texas Christian University. During the past 15 years, Dr. Cheek has been appointed to the rank of Assistant Professor at several prestigious schools of nursing, including Duke University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. With a PhD in Cellular Molecular Pharmacology and Physiology, Dr. Cheek has extensive research and publication experience addressing the role of hormones and biochemicals in endothelial function. In addition to his active research, teaching, and publishing, Dr. Cheek serves on numerous editorial boards, and is a fellow of the American Heart Association and Council on Cardiovascular Nursing.
